"Pippin" was a lovable miniature horse, the smallest of the TLAER Demo Horses and the only miniature, she touched the hearts and lives of so many during her years with TLAER Assistant Instructor Michelle Melaragno. Michelle rescued her from a severe neglect situation several years ago and brought her home in a station wagon. Sharing a pasture with Pippin in Auburn, Maine was another miniature, Zephyr, her constant companion, along with Maggie, a full sized horse who is also a TLAER Demo Horse. When Pippin was first rescued, she was very untrusting of people, slowly with natural horsemanship techniques and a lot of TLC, Pippin learned to do advanced online skills and tricks that were useful for TLAER, like standing on objects, rearing on command, and jumping up on obstacles. With Michelle holding her head in her lap, Pippin galloped into greener pastures in December 2010. She will surely be missed by Michelle, her pasturemates, her TLAER family, and all those she met throughout her years. Run free in greener pastures our friend, until we see you again.
