COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

TLAER, Inc. course curriculum provides certification at the
AWARENESS, OPERATIONS, and TECHNICIAN Levels.


Individuals can attend an AWARENESS Level Course as a Participant to receive a TLAER, Inc. Awareness Level Certification. 


Individuals can attend an OPERATIONS Level Course as a Participant to receive TLAER, Inc. Operations Level Certification or as an Auditor for Awareness Level Certification at the discretion of the individual course coordinator.

The TECHNICIAN Level Course is reserved for members of Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Teams and other highly trained and specialized technical rescue teams.

The name and the logo are registered trademarks and cannot be used by anyone not officially working with or for TLAER, Inc, Dr. Tomas Gimenez, or Dr. Rebecca Gimenez. While we encourage people to coordinate and assist with training exercises and events with their local emergency responders, veterinarians, and related personnel to increase the awareness of TLAER methods, procedures, and techniques, we do not allow anyone to use our logo nor the TLAER or Technical Large Animal Emergency Rescue names for their own business or promotion of alternative trainings based on our intellectual property. Completion of a TLAER Certification Course or receipt of a TLAER Certification does not bestow upon anyone the title, rank or position of assistant instructor, instructor or anything related to being an educator for or an representative of TLAER, Inc. Please do not pursue the use of our logo, name or website to represent your own business or training events. While we will assist you with pictures (free of charge on our website) that you can download, and expertise via email, we have a business and have to protect ourselves. The scheduled courses listed are TLAER, Inc. courses that are instructed by TLAER Primary Instructors Tomas Gimenez and Rebecca Gimenez with the assistance of approved TLAER Assistant Instructors. Please submit an inquiry to TLAER, Inc. regarding any course that you are considering attending that is not listed on this website, as it may not be a TLAER accredited course or approved by TLAER, Inc. TLAER, Inc. is not stating that the courses offered and instructed by others, not affiliated with TLAER, Inc. provide inappropriate training and education, but instead are not regulated under TLAER, Inc. standards, policies, and curriculum. The large animal rescue courses that are available to the public under different venues are organized and instructed by independent contractors who set their own formats, pricing and schedules. PRE-COURSE RECOMMENDATIONS

It is highly recommended by TLAER, Inc. that course attendees complete the online courses listed below prior to attending an Awareness or Operations Level Course. Online registration and certification are free through FEMA.GOV. TLAER course attendees will benefit from the knowledge obtained from these topics and will be able to better understand some of the basic, yet vital, components of TLAER incidents and emergency responses taught throughout the courses.

PERDUE UNIVERSITY
 

     Dr. Rebecca Gimenez speaking at the Student SAVMA Symposium –
Student American Veterinary Medical Association (SAVMA) Symposium will be hosted by Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2012! This annual symposium is attended by approximately 1300-1500 veterinary students from around the country and provides opportunities for students to learn, network, and have fun.  The symposium will take place from March 15-17th, 2012 on the campus of Purdue University. The lectures will be held on Friday, March 16th and Saturday, March 17th.  A key hallmark of the past SAVMA Symposia is outstanding educational sessions. We are planning no less for our Symposium. We have scheduled ten educational tracks which will be comprised of seven 50 minute lectures per track.
